My Flavors

Welcome!

I chose the name Slow Churned Ice Cream for several reasons:

1. I love slow churned ice cream…and have a bowl as often as I can.

But more importantly

2. I wanted my blog’s title to represent my writing and the way I create it whether in a short story, poem or blog post. The title captures the deliberate process with which I think through a piece of writing. I want it to show the ordinary world in a different light and often that takes time. The thoughts and images have to churn (pardon the pun) for awhile until they finally represent the flavor (apologies again, but I am on a roll) for which I am aiming.

So enjoy–perhaps the post titles will start reflecting actual ice cream flavors I love, but until then, I thought I’d share what my current favorites are:

Edy’s Mint Karaoke Cookie (An American Idol Flavor)

Take the Cake (yes..another American Idol Flavor and the winner of last year’s contest)
